Summer is here! Homemade Barbecue Sauce Recipe
Summer is here! This season brings with it activities and foods we all enjoy. Here in northeast Ohio, grilling kicks into high gear by Memorial Day as we enjoy the outdoors as much as possible before soup season comes around again in the fall.
I love picnics and patio meals, but I also want to keep my summer menu simple. And healthy. That’s where this homemade barbecue sauce comes in handy. It is made with easy ingredients and done in 5 minutes. And using honey as the sweetener instead of corn syrup is an added healthy bonus. (Hint: don’t skip the liquid smoke! If you have never used liquid smoke before, you will be amazed at the flavor just a small amount will add to this recipe and others!)
I keep a jar of this barbecue sauce in my fridge all the time now. Even in the winter we will flavor our chicken or burgers with a bit of this sauce. That sweet taste of summer during the cold months is a treat. Give this recipe a try-you won’t be disappointed!
